Manchester United target’s price drops by more than £60m after ‘better than Kaka’ claim.

While release clauses are not that common at Manchester United – or the English Premier League as a whole – the same cannot be said for Spain’s La Liga.

Due to Spanish employment laws, as set out by Forbes, everyone must have the right to change their vocation or Location free. This also applies to footballers and goes some way to explaining why Paris Saint-Germain managed to pry Neymar away from under Barcelona’s noses in 2017.

It also helps explain why Barca included a £400m-plus release clause in the much-coveted deal for Pau Cubarsi, ensuring history is unlikely to repeat itself.

And with Manchester United among the clubs said to be keen on one of La Liga’s most promising midfield talents, the €100m release clause in his own contract threatened to make Javi Guerra something unpleasant for a The red devils on the side with violations of financial fair play to be away.

The good news is that Valencia will not hold out for £86m. Valencia, says TEAMtalk, is open to negotiations. Guerra, meanwhile, may even be allowed to leave the Mestalla for “well below” the £25m mark, meaning his actual price tag could be in excess of £60m. Less than you first fear.

Manchester United can offload Javi Guerra on the cheap

If that 100 million clause sent Guerra’s suitors running for the hills, then suggestions that he could be allowed to leave for much less should send them back in droves.

TEAMtalk adds that, in addition to Man United, Arsenal are also on red alert. Barcelona sporting director Deco launched his own investigation.

Guerra, who started his career at Castellon’s rivals Villarreal, emerged as a leader at a very young age. Los Che dressing room despite being only 21 years old. The Spain youth star has played in 35 of his 37 top-flight matches, scoring four goals in his role as a player.

Valencia legend David Albelda sees similarities between Guerra and 2007 Ballon d’Or winner Kaka, even if the former has yet to discover the latter’s knack for scoring reliable goals.

“(The Valencia youngsters) all showed signs because they were not a flash in the pan. They are progressing. The one I see most established (in the first team) is Guerra,” says Albeda Cadena Cope.

“Javi Guerra, apart from everything he gives you and his ability to score, is fun to watch for a fan. He is tall, fast, can dribble and run forwards and backwards. It’s very exciting, both for us and – unfortunately – for the big teams.”

“There is something better than Kaka, which is defensive work rate. Javi does it. He has brutal physical potential.”

United’s midfield overhaul is only just beginning

At 6ft 2in and possessing both the physical and technical qualities to play in a variety of roles, Guerra is one of a number of young midfielders said to be on Man United’s radar, with Casemiro, Christian Erisken and Sofyan Amrabat , all expected to leave.

Casemiro could be the subject of a £35m bid from Saudi Arabia. Eriksen is out of contract in 2025. Amrabat, meanwhile, does not see his loan deal from Fiorentina converted into a permanent transfer.

Guerra is likely to come much cheaper than Everton’s Amadou Onana and Benfica’s Joao Neves, to name just two.
