Another Danny Rohl contract update as the Sheffield Wednesday manager heads to London

Sheffield Wednesday and Danny Rohl are in the midst of contract talks following an impressive finish to the 2023/24 season.

Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri is understandably keen to hand Rohl, 35, a new contract in S6.

It comes after Rohl’s Sheffield Wednesday side secured 20th place in the Championship table, becoming the first Championship side to beat the drop after going winless in their opening 13 games of the season.

Chansiri and Rohl have been in talks over a new deal for the latter, with Rohl’s current contract expected to expire in a year.

And it seems these discussions are going on constantly. Now, there is more information about this issue.

Dejphon Chansiri and Danny Rohl are also holding talks in London

Journalist Alex Miller revealed to X that Chansiri, Rohl and “representatives met for further discussions” in London on Wednesday.

Miller adds that contract talks are “high on the agenda” and that “the outcome of the meeting sounds very encouraging.”

But Miller is urging Sheffield Wednesday fans to be patient on the matter, adding that “there are some important details to be worked out before anything is finalised”.

Danny Rohl Sheffield Wednesday contract may trigger one thing

With any contract renewal talks in football, there are always plenty of issues and factors to consider, so it’s understandable that pen has yet to be put to paper.

But it remains that proceedings are proceeding in a positive manner and Sheffield Wednesday fans can expect to hear news of a new deal for Rohl very soon.

And that would be a huge achievement for the club and Chansiri. Then, once Rohl’s future is finalized and secured, the club can properly move on with their transfer plans for this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday still have many players’ futures to finalize and then, of course, many players to bring in.

Expect the Owls to utilize the free agent and loan markets again this summer, with a new contract for Rohl that could use plenty of available resources.

However, it looks set to be an interesting summer in S6 and will need to be a strong one in the transfer market if Sheffield Wednesday are to avoid another repeat of the 2023/24 Championship campaign.

The players will enter the final month of their contracts in a week’s time and it will present the Owls, and indeed every other side in the Football League, with the chance to start initial discussions and more.
