Wiltshire collector is set to auction Camden Market street art doors

Auctioneer Edd Thomas said the sheds “did the job but lacked the unique character that drew people to Camden, which had become a mecca for street art”.

“Fast forward to 2014 and ‘The Real Art of Street Art’ has secured permission to repaint the market sheds,” he said.

“There were street performers, not just from London, but from all over the UK and the world.

“Each artist was left to choose their own design and none of the participants were paid, and each basic shed face was given to reimagine it.

“Less than two years later the decision was made to redevelop the site and the wooden sheds were demolished.”

The site is now a shopping center with luxury apartments.
