Pedestrian struck, killed on Highway 91 in Enfield: State Police

ENFIELD, CT — A New York man walking in the southbound lane of Interstate 91 was struck and killed by a pickup truck late Tuesday afternoon, according to state police.

The collision occurred around 5:29 PM when TJ Jennings, 39, of Hopewell Junction, NY, was struck by a 2022 Ram 5500 with a driver and two passengers. Jennings was traveling in the right third lane north of the Exit 46 on-ramp, according to a state police report.

“Jennings suffered non-life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” according to the report.

The truck’s passengers were not injured, police said.

The city of Enfield issued an alert at 6:11 p.m. through its Everbridge notification system, informing drivers that the southbound side of the freeway would be closed between exits 47 and 45 until around 10 p.m.
