Surprisingly, that name is Liam, with 20,802 babies given the name in 2023 alone. For girls, Olivia remained the most popular choice, maintaining its number one position for an astonishing five years.

As in 2022, Noah, Oliver and James took second, third and fourth place for boys, while Emma, Charlotte and Amelia took this for girls. Interestingly, only one name changed in the top 10 for both genders – Mateo, who came in sixth for boys.

Further down the list, things got a little more interesting. Genesis surprisingly placed 57th among the girls, while Isla and Nova placed 33rd and 34th.

For boys, Maverick, Waylon, and Axel were unexpectedly popular choices, coming in at #37, #62, and #72, respectively. Gael and Allison just hit the charts, both securing #100 on the boys’ lists, and girls.
