The UK’s best venues for hayfever sufferers have been revealed – just in time for summer bookings.

For those suffering from hay fever, staying inside can seem more appealing than venturing outside during the summer months. In the UK alone in the last week, Google searches for ‘hayfever’ have increased by 86%, with 21,000 Britons looking for hayfever support, according to Parkdean Resorts. With pollen counts on the rise, Parkdean Resorts has revealed the best places in the UK for hayfever sufferers to visit, with popular destinations such as Blackpool and Cornwall on the list.

Blackpool

Number one place is Blackpool. With extremely low grass pollen counts and the only location to boast this rating, Blackpool offers the perfect place to visit for hay fever sufferers. Famous for Pleasure Beach and amusement parks, as well as the landmark Blackpool Tower, there’s plenty to explore for those suffering from the seasonal sniffles.

Bournemouth

For those looking for a picturesque coastal location, Bournemouth is a close second. The low pollen count and moderate amount of trees and grass make it a good location to escape to when sufferers’ symptoms worsen.

Brighton

The third place is great for those who live in the big city but need an escape. Brighton is a popular year-round destination for tourists, and being just over an hour away by train from London, its pebbly beaches and seaside views will never be more attractive.

Falmouth, Cornwall

In fourth place is the popular Falmouth in Cornwall, which scores low for pollen. Cornwall is often a favorite holiday destination among Brits, so Falmouth offers the perfect chance to holiday in the UK with the family without being bogged down by high levels of pollen. In addition, Parkdean Resorts is known for its beaches and holiday spots in Cornwall, so visitors will not be limited in accommodation.

Leicester

The second UK city with the lowest pollen count is Leicester. Despite the fact that there are more trees, there is little grass, which means less pollen in the area. With a wealth of cultural and historical attractions to explore, it’s great for those looking to see and appreciate more of their own country this summer.
