Carlton-in-Cleveland mudslide tragedy as family pay tribute to Leah Harrison

The family of a girl who died in a UK mudslide tragedy have paid tribute. Leah Harrison has died following the incident in Carlton-in-Cleveland yesterday, Wednesday 22nd May.

In a statement issued today, Thursday May 23, the family of 10-year-old Leah, from Darlington, said: “Leah Harrison, happy, experienced and lucky little girl. The beautiful smile, the giddy laugh, the silly jokes.

“You will never be forgotten little girl. You will achieve your dream and become a player for the Lionesses.

“Spread those wings. May you rest in paradise.”

North Yorkshire Police say the family are being supported by specially trained officers. “We ask that you respect their privacy and give them time and space to grieve,” the force said.
