King’s Cross trains have been disrupted while engineers repair the broken track

Trains running from King’s Cross have been hit with severe delays due to a broken rail, affecting services heading towards Stevenage.

Passengers are being warned of delays of up to 25 minutes on Grand Central, Great Northern, Hull Trains, LNER, Lumo and Thameslink services between the two stations.

Meanwhile, there are long delays on the M25 due to an accident earlier at J10 A3 (Wisley Interchange). Following two separate accidents, all lanes are reopening.

Earlier on Friday trains from the South East were delayed through Lewisham station but this has since been resolved.

Croydon Tramlink remains partially suspended, while the Northern Line is also experiencing minor delays.

Part of the Blackwall Tunnel will be closed this weekend

As a reminder, part of the Blackwall Tunnel – a major river crossing – will be closed this weekend.

The southbound lane will be closed from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.

It is also scheduled to close on June 1-3, June 8-10 and June 29-July 1.

This is for work on the controversial Silvertown Tunnel.

Minor delays on the Northern Line

There are currently minor delays on the Northern Line due to a lack of trains.

Lewisham signaling fault hits services across the South East

A signaling fault at Lewisham station has hit several commuter routes across the South East.

The affected routes, which may be subject to cancellations or delays, are: London Victoria and Dartford; between London Charing Cross and Hayes / Dartford / Sevenoaks; and also between London Cannon Street and Dartford / Orpington / Gravesend / Rochester.

The interruption is expected until 20.30.

Some stations no longer benefit from services on broken tracks

Several stations are out of service due to disruption at King’s Cross.

Great Northern / Thameslink trains which normally run from Welwyn Garden City to Moorgate will not call at Hadley Wood or New Barnet, National Rail said.

Trains in the opposite direction, from Moorgate to New Barnet, will still call at all stations as scheduled.

A broken rail is affecting many King’s Cross services this afternoon, with disruption expected until the end of the day.

The following services are affected:

Grand Central between London Kings Cross and Bradford Interchange / Sunderland

Great Northern between London Kings Cross and Kings Lynn and also between Moorgate and Welwyn Garden City

Hull trains between London Kings Cross and Hull / Beverley

LNER between London Kings Cross and Lincoln / Bradford Forster Square / Leeds / Harrogate / Edinburgh / Glasgow Central / Aberdeen / Inverness

Lumo between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh

Thameslink between Brighton and Cambridge and also between Horsham and Peterborough

The ambulance service confirms the M25 response

South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed it responded to a medical incident at around 9.50am on the M25.

The emergency service said it acted following reports of a person requiring medical attention on the shoulder of the M25 between junction 6 and 5.

“An ambulance crew attended the scene and the person was assessed and treated before being taken to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill,” a statement added.

Accident on the M25 around J10 causing traffic

There is currently around six miles of traffic on the M25 clockwise due to an accident at Junction 10, Wisley Interchange.

Good service resumes on DLR

The DLR’s previous severe delays have ended, TfL says, and a good service is now running on the line.

There are still severe delays on the DLR between Canning Town and Woolwich Arsenal while TfL fixes a faulty train at Pontoon Dock.

All three lanes of the M25 anti-clockwise have now reopened after an accident between junctions 6 and 5 on Friday morning.

However, National Highways said there were still delays of around 50 minutes for through traffic.

The medical incident following the accident on the M25 anti-clockwise between junctions 6 and 5 has now resulted in four miles of congestion along the road.

One lane is currently closed along the section to Clacket Lane services in Surrey. It was causing delays of about 45 minutes.

Traffic more congested than expected after the truck dropped its load

The Dartford Crossing Bridge is now fully open

Essex Police confirmed that the QEII bridge, which forms the anti-clockwise section of the Dartford Crossing, has reopened.

The force had been called to concerns about someone on the bridge shortly before 5.20am.

Delays through Hammersmith

There are now long delays on the A4 through Hammersmith from the M4 J1 (Chiswick Roundabout) to Cromwell Crescent.

Travel time is approximately 30 minutes past the Hogarth Roundabout and over Hammersmith Crossing.

Delays and suspensions remain on the London Underground network

Severe delays remain on the Transport for London network on Friday morning due to a number of ongoing issues.

The Metropolitan line is suspended between Chalfont & Latimer and Chesham due to a point failure.

On the DLR, there are severe delays between Canning Town and Woolwich Arsenal due to a broken down train at Pontoon Dock.

There are minor delays on the Northern, Jubilee and Circle lines.

Eight miles of slow traffic on the M25

Traffic is moving slowly on the M25 anti-clockwise from J26 A121 at Honey Lane (Waltham Abbey) to J25 A10 (Enfield).

One lane closed one mile after J25 due to an active construction zone.

Travel time is 20 minutes.

Tramlink track suspended due to lack of stock

Traffic has been cleared at Dartford Crossing, but a 60-minute wait remains

Traffic has been cleared on the A282 near the QEII bridge southbound at Dartford Crossing following a police incident.

“Please allow extra time if traveling in the area as long delays of 60 minutes remain,” National Highways tweeted.

Metro network affected by delays

There is currently no service between Chalfont & Latimer and Chesham on the Metropolitan Line due to a point failure at Chalfont & Latimer.

There are also severe delays on the District Line between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon due to engineering work which is running late. There are further delays on the southbound Jubilee line due to a train breakdown at Green Park.

The Northern Line is also experiencing minor delays due to a lack of trains.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are currently at the scene of an incident on Dartford Crossing.

“We were called to concerns about someone on the bridge shortly before 5.20am today (Friday May 17) and responded.

“This is an ongoing incident and traffic is currently being backed up.

“Please plan your route, we appreciate your understanding and will provide an update as soon as we can.”
