Developer Co Tyrone McAleer and Rushe has completed a £100m speculative office development in Leeds city centre.

City Square House was developed by Cookstown firm MRP’s investment arm and built by its design and build wing.

McAleer and Rushe said 85 per cent of the 140,000 sq ft office building near Leeds Train Station was already let.

Tenants include law firm DLA Piper, insurance specialist Markel and professional services consultancy Barnett Waddingham.

The 12-storey office tower is part of the ongoing development of City Square in Leeds

Angus Montieth, development director at MRP, said: “The practical completion of City Square House is a massive milestone to celebrate.

“We have created a best-in-class office development in Leeds, unrivaled in location and with sustainability and wellbeing at the heart of its design.

“It boasts an impressive tenant community and we are confident of setting a new prime rent in Leeds of £40 per ft2.”

Jonathan O’Neill, senior director at McAleer & Rushe, added: “City Square House has been an exciting, challenging and rewarding project for us. Now this iconic building is complete, we are so proud.

“There is no doubt that City Square House is a magnificent addition to the built environment of Leeds city center and a symbol of the city’s thriving economy.”
