SWIMMING – Redditch won 20 medals at the West Midlands Summer Regional Championships

REDDITCH Swimming Club won 20 medals competing at the Swim England West Midlands Summer Regional Championships in Sandwell.

The club’s swimmers came home with two gold, 12 silver and six bronze medals in the 50m long course used at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Some 43 Redditch swimmers qualified for the West Midlands Summer Regional Championships in all age groups.

The competition was held over five days, with Redditch swimmers competing in 170 heats and seven relay races.

The club had runners in every session over the five days and achieved a personal best 86% (PB) at PB rate.

A statement from the club said: “We are incredibly proud of our swimmers and would also like to thank all our coaches, volunteers and officials who supported the swimmers over the two regional weekends.”
