PHOTO GALLERY: Popular Bradford event continues for third year

Touch A Truck attracted more than 1,000 people who lined up to explore a Zamboni, a backhoe, tractors, graders, a fire engine, an ambulance, a police car and more

Heat, humidity and even a severe weather warning weren’t enough to stop Bradford residents from having fun playing with trucks.

More than 1,000 people came out to celebrate National Public Works Week with the city’s third annual Touch A Truck event at the Urban Operations Center at 75 Melbourne Dr. in Bradford on Wednesday evening, May 22.

Guests were able to explore and take photos of more than 15 vehicles from the city’s fleet, some of which included a Zamboni, backhoe and tractors, as well as a fire truck from Bradford West Gwillimbury Fire and Emergency Services, an ambulance from at Simcoe County Paramedic Services. and a cruiser from the South Simcoe Police Service.

There were also crafts, the opportunity to paint a snowplow, music by DJ Jacster, hula hoop performances by Scarlet Black and even free ice cream and slushies from Mister Treats.
