Newly released data debunks major online claims about Manchester City and Liverpool

The data revealed that Manchester City’s Premier League final dominated TV viewing, contrary to recent claims on social media.

Pep Guardiola’s side won a fourth successive Premier League title on Sunday afternoon, beating West Ham United 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium to win the league for the sixth time in seven years.

An emphatic first-half brace from Phil Foden and a second-half strike from Rodri to restore the Blues’ two-goal lead helped Manchester City clear the 90-point mark and clinch the Premier League ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manchester City won the league ahead of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal by two points and finished nine points ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, despite the Merseyside club playing a big part in the overall trophy race.

The Cityzens are unbeaten in their last 35 matches in all competitions, with the run helping Manchester City to Premier League glory, as well as success at the FIFA Club World Cup and an Emirates FA Cup final.

Sunday’s Premier League title was the Blues’ third trophy of the campaign and City will bid to lift a fourth trophy this weekend when Manchester City take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Manchester City are unbeaten since the start of December and drew with both Liverpool and Arsenal during the Premier League title race, with a 1-1 draw at Anfield and 0-0 against the Gunners in east Manchester.

Both Manchester City and Liverpool’s final Premier League game of the campaign were shown on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, with Liverpool’s clash with Wolves also the final game of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure at Anfield.

Despite the events on Merseyside, the Liverpool ECHO reported data from Sky Sports revealing that Manchester City’s game claimed a bigger audience share with 54% of viewers compared to 39% watching Liverpool, contrary to claims on social networks.

Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Everton at the Emirates Stadium was shown on rival channel TNT Sports, with the north London club failing to clinch the Premier League title following the Blues’ victory over West Ham.
