Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger stops Birmingham show and jumps off stage to join fan

Nickelback were halfway through their concert at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena tonight when frontman Chad Kroeger stopped the music and jumped off the stage.

The 49-year-old performed with the band on the Get Rollin’ Tour to promote their latest album, their first in five years.

The arena in Birmingham was almost sold out – with fans screaming songs like Savin’ Me, Someday and Animal.

But Chad stopped the music so he could jump off the stage and give an eager fan a hug. The woman in the first place had a sign that read “This is my 40th show – Chad, hug?” and read it out loud to the crowd and said “Ok, I’ll give you a hug – I think 40 shows is worth a hug!”

She played a few more songs and then declared that she needed a breather, so she jumped off the stage to hug her lucky fan, much to her delight.

The band had a blast on stage tonight, their last night in the UK for this tour. Chad read several signs to the crowd, including one that read “Nickelback virgin” and another that read “Please can you sing SEX.” Chad obliged and sang a section of the song acoustically, which was met with roars of approval from the audience.
