Raids in Coventry saw tens of thousands of pounds worth of drugs and illegal goods seized

Drugs and illegal goods worth tens of thousands of pounds have been seized in a wave of raids in Coventry. Police say they also made seven arrests in what was a “day of action”.

Using clues and information from local residents and councillors, Coventry Police say officers carried out a series of “successful joint operations”. The addresses where the raids were carried out were not disclosed.

Police teams also worked with Coventry City Council to enforce parking offenses as well as breaches of trading standards. Also with Citizen Housing, they have served a number of community protection and eviction notices on people they say are “causing real problems” in the community.

Inspector Jerome Moran from Coventry Police: “The operation went really well and it was all possible because of the positive relationships with our local communities who continue to tell us what the issues are and how they are affecting them.

“The support of our community is vital to making Coventry a safer place to live, visit and work and we urge anyone with concerns to get in touch. or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”
