A third man has been arrested after the Tavistock pub attack over the festive period

A third man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Tavistock over the bank holiday weekend. A man was seriously injured during an attack at a pub in the city in the early hours of Monday morning, May 6.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to reports of an assault at around 1.30am and reports that a man had suffered a serious arm injury during an altercation inside a pub. The victim was airlifted to hospital, the force said in a statement issued on Monday.



Two men in their 20s were arrested yesterday as officers continued to search for a third suspect. A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed today, Tuesday 7 May, that a third person had been arrested. All three have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Following the previous release involving a serious assault in Tavistock, police can now confirm that all three people who were wanted in connection with the incident have been located and arrested.

“Three men, aged 27, 26 and 25 and all from Tavistock, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed pending further enquiries. Numerous investigations are currently underway.

“Again, police are encouraging anyone in the community who saw what happened or who has a mobile phone or CCTV footage of what happened to contact police quoting 50240108037. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111.”
