Who is Dani Olmo? £51m star Liverpool ‘outbid’ Barcelona in race for

Liverpool are being linked with a move for RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo this summer.

The summer transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet, but already rumors are starting to swirl around potential new signings. Arne Slot will be Liverpool’s next manager when he officially takes over from Jurgen Klopp on June 1.




Slot will be tasked with preparing Liverpool’s squad for the upcoming campaign, with pre-season set to begin in July. New sporting director Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group football CEO Michael Edwards will work with the Dutchman in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Even though there are still a few weeks until the window officially opens, Liverpool are already being linked with potential targets. Olmo is a player who has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

Spanish news outlet Marca, via Paisley Gates, claimed that not only are Liverpool interested in signing Olmo, but that they have an advantage over Barcelona in the race for his signature. Olmo is said to have a €60m (£51m) release clause in his contract, fueling speculation he could leave the Bundesliga club.

So what else do we know about the latest Liverpool-linked player?

Olmo is a Spain international who plays as a number 10 for Leipzig, but is also capable of playing on both wings. The 26-year-old began his career at Espanyol in their youth career before joining Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy.
