Gunman shoots through window of Sainsbury’s in Brixton – South London News

A gunman remains at large after shooting through the window of a Sainsbury’s on Monday night.

Police were called to Tulse Hill, Brixton, at around 10pm to reports of shootings.

Police arrived at the scene and found evidence that a gun had been discharged near a supermarket, where a window had been smashed.

No one was injured during the shooting. A member of the public shopping in the store smashed his knee after falling to the floor.

There have been no arrests at this stage as the MET continue their enquiries.

Lambeth-based Superintendent Gabriel Cameron said: “I know this incident will be of great concern to the local community and there was a big scene in Tulse Hill.

“Officers will be carrying out extra patrols in the area over the coming days.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101, quoting CAD 8518/20 May.”
