“I’m an extreme cleaner – I spend my days cleaning strangers’ dirty houses for free”

An extreme cleaner spends up to five days transforming strangers’ homes – for free. Diana Jones, 23, started cleaning people’s homes after doing a “deep clean” of her mother’s house.

Since starting, Diana has cleaned a total of 10 houses and said it can take up to five days to complete. She said the homes are the “worst environment” she’ll ever find herself in, but said it’s rewarding to see the end result.

“The recent house I did was a better house. The living conditions were bad and it took me five whole days. I love being able to help people and their reaction is always touching.”

Diana started cleaning full-time in January 2024 after helping her mother with the housework. She realized that her mother was too busy to clean constantly, so she offered her a hand.

Diana said: “My mother has five children in total, she is always busy. He’s always taking my brothers to after school clubs and he doesn’t have time. I stepped in and helped her. I was excited and she was excited. about.”

After cleaning her mother’s house, Diana posted the transformation videos on social media and started getting people to ask her for help. The last house he cleaned belonged to a treasurer and took him five days to complete.

Diana said: “It’s hard to describe the state of the housing. They can be very intense. Not for the faint of heart I would say. You have to have a thick skin to be able to clear them and go in and do what you want. do.”

One of Diana’s recent cleanings was for a family living in a four bedroom house who wanted somewhere to eat and bathe. The kitchen was full of hundreds of flies and she spent two and a half hours cleaning a living room full of rubbish. After cleaning the house, Diana does not charge them.

She said: “I don’t charge people a penny. They bring their own cleaning supplies and have a nice clean house. I have a lot of empathy and once I realized how many people need help and can’t afford it. , I wanted to help, I don’t think there’s enough help for people in the UK and if there’s anyone who can lend a helping hand that’s incredible.”

Diana said people often get emotional when they see how their house looks after Diana has cleaned. She said: “I’ve had reactions where people have cried really hard. I’m so happy that I can have an impact on their lives. Their normal is not our normal. Everyone else deserves to breathe in their own space. I just think what they do is amazing and people should help when they can.”
