M1 collapse live updates near Doncaster as drivers face long delays

Motorists traveling along the M1 near Doncaster this afternoon are experiencing long delays on the roads.

Queues are forming on the northbound carriageway due to an accident ahead of J32 for the M18 junction. Footage from motorway cameras shows cars queuing bumper to bumper, with congestion as early as J30 for Sheffield.

It is the second crash to cause delays on the M1 northbound today, with drivers near Wakefield stuck in a three-mile tailback following an earlier crash.

At the moment, the circumstances of the collision are not known, and it is not clear when the road will be reopened. Yorkshire Live has contacted South Yorkshire Police for further information.
