The man’s clothes were cut off after he was surrounded by an armed gang

A man is ‘shaken’ after an armed gang stole his bank card and cut his coat.

Between 6.53pm and 8.21pm on Tuesday 14 May, the 37-year-old victim was walking on the Runcorn Freeway from Bridge Street in the direction of Village Square, Runcorn, when he was attacked by a gang of teenagers.




One of the gang is believed to be carrying a knife. During the attack, the victim’s coat was cut and his bank card was stolen.

The suspects are believed to be males between the ages of 14 and 18. One of the alleged attackers was said to be wearing a black North Face top and a balaclava.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or video footage to get in touch.

Detective Constable Faye Nowell, from Runcorn CID, said: “This attack has left the victim feeling considerably shaken and we are doing everything possible to trace those responsible and bring them to justice.
