Cornwall motorcyclist who died in collision with Highland motorbike named by police

A motorcyclist who died in a crash involving two motorbikes has been named.

Jeremy Weekes, died at the scene of the collision on the A837 near Loch Assynt in the Highlands at around 11.05am on Wednesday morning.




The 61-year-old from Newquay, Cornwall, was driving a black BMW GS1250 motorcycle which was involved in a collision with the black Honda VFR motorcycle.

Police say the driver of the Honda, a man in his 60s, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable.

Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Weekes at a very difficult time.

“Investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can help and who has not yet spoken to officers is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1207 of Wednesday 22 May 2024.”
