One of Yorkshire’s stunning coastal towns was crowned the region’s best beach last year – and it’s just three hours from Birmingham. This little paradise boasts an alluring boardwalk, captivating views and an inviting stretch of sand, winning the hearts of many.

It acts as a serene sanctuary for those longing for a quiet seaside getaway in the sun. Located between Scarborough and Bridlington, Filey’s rave reviews are rife on TripAdvisor. Visitors are left in awe of this Yorkshire hotspot, saying they ‘can’t fault it’.

Indeed, Filey Beach is not only a favorite among sunbathers; it’s also making waves on TripAdvisor. It has already accumulated an impressive 1,938 “excellent” mentions. As a result, it proudly ranks second on the list of local attractions, with a strong average of 4.5 stars, explaining its city-wide buzz.

One visitor, Jacqui, couldn’t help but sing the praises of Filey Beach, dubbing it “glorious”. She explained: “Glorious to walk down to the coast from the city center and see the stretch of coast and just watch the world go by. A wonderful area and lots to see and do.”

She further added to her review sharing, “It was popular and it was February. A bit of a climb back into town, but manageable, and lots of people were doing just that.”

Shane, a recent visitor to Filey Beach, had nothing but praise, saying: “We couldn’t fault this beautiful big sandy beach and our two dogs Monty and Stumpy thoroughly enjoyed their beach visit wilderness”.

However, he found it worth noting that “At this time of year, it wasn’t really open, but we still made the most of the beach. Nearby handicap golfs seem to have disappeared or have very limited time. A beautiful beach”.

Julie R also enjoyed her visit, sharing, “Had a late fall day trip to lovely Filey. We walked on Brigg and were delighted to see dolphins swimming in the bay. We took a long walk on the sandy beach, dog… friendly at this time of year Parking was free and out of season, but not all public toilets seem like it would be nice to visit in the summer and swim in the sea.

In addition, she liked the town’s amenities, commenting: “A good selection of shops and cafes in the main town and beautiful public gardens.”

Ultimately, Melody saw Filey Beach as a hidden treasure, saying: “What an absolute gem! Beautiful beach and an Olde Worlde feel at prom. It was very crowded and parking was a bit of a nightmare, but I’m so glad we persevered to find a parking spot.

She went on to praise the establishments: “There is a fish and chip restaurant at the front which has tasty food but a bit expensive. We thoroughly enjoyed our day here and will definitely be back.”

The view was something I never would have dreamed of seeing, but I’m so glad I made it. Wonderful, sunny and ethereal, I would recommend visiting here, even for five minutes.
