All dogs dream of stability and a family to call their own, and some are luckier than others in this respect. All seven dogs featured here today are older dogs still looking for their forever homes.

What his carers say: “Deki is a big boy who has a bit of a sensitive soul. He’s not a big fan of handling and much prefers to have his own space, so his new family will have to understand that. Deki learns how to wear a muzzle for when he sees the vet and when he needs a groom to keep him looking his best. He would like to be the only pet in his house forever, however he can share his walks with calm friends! to help him develop his social skills, Deki can only live with adults and his adopters will need to be willing to commit to all his ongoing training here at the centre, but his trainers will be happy to tell you all about what what they learn Deki has been in a home before and was house trained which continued while in our care. He is happy to be left for a few hours as long as he has a comfortable bed to lay on, but this should be built. gradually once he settled back into home life.”

What his carers say: “Little Sam is looking for his forever home after being with us. Sam is an independent boy who is quite happy doing his own thing. he sees the vet so he learns to wear a muzzle for those situations. He loves treats, so he learns very quickly that potential adopters will need to be willing to meet Sam a few times before going home. build a relationship and get to know each other, Sam will need his own safe garden when he can safely explore at home with adults only where he can enjoy his golden years.”

What his caregivers say: “Bailey is a sweet, sensitive boy looking for a quiet, adults-only home where he can relax and settle down at his own pace. He would like to be the only pet in his house forever, with access to peace. Rural Walkies may need time to build relationships with new people, so his new family will need to be able to meet him here at the center a few times and be happy to be involved in all his training continue 1-2-1 training sessions with our behavior team. He is a cheeky boy who has a lovely personality once he finds his confidence coming back to the kennel is a bit overwhelming and can be quite anxious with a lot of noise. They will need their garden, where they can play, where they can bask in the sun when they are left for long periods.”

What his carers say: “Hachi is an elderly man looking for a quiet and peaceful retirement home where he can go to gentle potters and enjoy nature. He is looking for an adults-only home with minimal visitors and no visiting children where possible. it gets plenty of time and space to settle in and find its feet. He is looking for devoted adopters who are able to get involved in all his training, is making lots of progress and learning lots of new things (especially fish!) and is learning to wear his muzzle on walks. Hachi will need to be the only pet in his new home and would like to have access to quiet walking areas where he would love a secure garden retreat where he can snooze, sunbathe and enjoy all things beautiful that nature has to offer!”

What her carers say: “Lucy is a sweet and sensitive lady who will need her new carers to make a few visits to meet her at the center as she can be anxious around new people. Once she warms up to you she loves to explore and Lucy will need an adult at home, the only pet with few visitors so she feels at ease and relaxes in a safe space but can socialize with quieter dogs areas away from the hustle and bustle she is not too happy about vet visits and will have to be muzzled during checkups – she gets lots of treats during training. She spent some time in a foster home where she was making great progress with her house training. Her favorite place to sleep was on her caregivers legs or a big comfortable bed.

What his carers say: “Tiger is a sweet boy who enjoys the quieter life away from the hustle and bustle! He can be nervous around strangers and will need his new family to visit him a few times so he can investigate and show them all. Things he has learned Because he finds some things scary, he will have to be muzzled on his adventures – he gets lots of praise and treats during training and knows he looks nice wearing it and good to be left for a hour or so as long as he stays with the radio on and things to do to keep him occupied – he especially likes to look for hidden treats Could live with another dog after a successful meeting at the center! , they prefer calmer dogs, as they can be concerned about boisterous players. He will need a home with few visitors and ideally a safe area where he can relax if there are strangers in the house he can explore, zoom in and play with his favorite toys! Once Tigger warms up to you, he’s full of character and has a cheeky personality.”

What her carers say: “Ginger is a gorgeous little girl who arrived with us with very little information. She really blossomed in confidence and showed us what a wonderful lady she is! Ginger will likely need help settling into her new home and may need help. support with things like homeschooling and learning how to settle and relax on her own, Ginger could live with older, sensitive children over 14 who can understand when she’s a little unsure about things sometimes, but it can also be full of joy once it is. Ginger is learning how to muzzle her walkies, which she knows means LOTS of tasty treats – she’s also responding very well to her clicker training. Not a big fan of other dogs forever home for her with access to plenty of quiet quiet walkies Gingers favorite thing in the world and the soft squeaky ones are the best though sometimes she will must learn impulse control. Ginger loves to lean on her favorite people for banter and she’s a real love bug once you’re friends.”
