The This Morning star says she has spoken to ITV about returning to the show

Former This Morning host Fern Britton says she is in talks with ITV producers about returning to the show after 15 years. The 66-year-old presenter says she was approached by This Morning bosses in discussions about making a series of films for the show.

Speaking to Women & Home magazine, Fern said the talks came after a recent appearance. She said: “When my interview was over and I was leaving the studio, I was approached by a (member of) the production team who said, ‘Would you like to make some little films with us?’

“That conversation hasn’t been had yet, but those little four-minute movies every now and then? Perfect. If I could make them in Cornwall that would be even more perfect!

“So many of the team I worked with are still there and it was a real trip down memory lane. It was wonderful to be close to people who meant a lot to me. The morning I resigned, I didn’t even think about it. leaving the show, so I left behind a lot of good things and a lot of good friends, so (coming back) was great.”

Discussing what she wants to do next, Fern said: “The dream would be to do (TV) interviews. I would like to do something with politics. I’m not interested in party politics, I’m interested in politicians and where they lie. they are the characters we vote for.

“I don’t care what party they are for, as long as they really speak to the country to understand what’s going on in the world, what a disaster it was to leave Europe and how desperate they are. trying to cover up the terrible things that happen because of it.

“Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard very much get my vote. It’s great to see Cat again. She has been in America, gaining more experience, but for viewers she is fresh.

“Fresh, female, more mature, experienced and very nice – she’s got a lot going for her and Ben is just 100% nice.”
