Man City vs Man United LIVE: FA Cup Final kick-off, line-ups and latest updates from Wembley

Pep Guardiola offers advice to journalist after ‘offensive’ question.

Manchester City face rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup Final today with a double-double on the line at Wembley Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side, a week away from a fourth successive Premier League title, face a team low on confidence after a turbulent season under Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman’s future is subject to intense speculation, with a summer of change anticipated at Old Trafford, but an unlikely win over the champions could prove vital in convincing Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team to stick with him for next season.

“I’m just focusing on the job I have to do and that’s to win Saturday’s game first and then we’re in the draft,” Ten Hag said when quizzed on his future. “Continue in the project. I came here to win trophies and Saturday is another opportunity.”

But Shaw is England’s first-choice at left-back and has started there at the last two major tournaments, with Southgate admitting he will give the Manchester United defender every chance at the tournament.

Kyle Walker does not believe many teams will be able to match Manchester City’s historic haul of four successive Premier League titles.

City pipped Arsenal to yet another league crown on Sunday to set a new record and could add the FA Cup to their trophy collection this weekend as they bid to complete the back-to-back double.

Asked if Pep Guardiola’s men are getting the credit they deserve, Walker, 33, told Sky Sports: “I don’t think we’re underappreciated, I think we are and we’re getting the plaudits we rightly deserve.

“But I think to do what we’ve done year in and year out, I don’t think many teams would be able to do that, especially in this Premier League.”

A horrendous injury list has been compounded by poor players and poor decision-making in what has been a forgettable campaign for everyone connected with the Old Trafford club.

United left Europe before Christmas and stumbled home in eighth place – their lowest in the Premier League era – to put pressure on Ten Hag as Ineos consider how to take the club back to the top.

Manchester United enter Erik’s Last Stand ahead of the inevitable summer of change

“Every season you review it and then we’ll see where we are in the draft and the things we need to change,” Ten Hag said. For many, the issue of change revolves around the dugout.

If nothing else, the Dutchman is good at message discipline. “I’m just focusing on this game, as I’m focusing on every game,” he said, shrugging off the fact that, like Louis van Gaal, he could bid farewell to United in a cup final FA, even if it will be won. However, there are times when his chosen messages seem tailored.

United recorded their worst Premier League finish in eighth, while crashing out of the Champions League at the group stage and could lose a second FA Cup final in a row to City.

But Guardiola, who knows Ten Hag from their time together at Bayern Munich, objected to a culture where managers are labeled failures if they don’t claim that only one team can win, but that others can still do well.

Rodri insists Manchester City beat Arsenal to the Premier League title thanks to their superior “mentality” as he criticizes Mikel Arteta’s side for a lack of ambition when they face each other at the Etihad Stadium.

The Spanish midfielder scored in the champions’ victory over West Ham on Sunday to secure a fourth successive title and finish two points clear of the Gunners.

And Rodri explained how City’s “mentality” proved decisive in a thrilling title race against Arsenal.
