Sheffield was in decline. In Bill Stephenson’s photographs, the city shines anyway

I always loved Bill’s work or the moments he captured. A dear friend of mine and also the brilliant documentary photographer Barbara Wasiak https://ourfaveplaces.co.uk/meet-the-locals/barbara-wasiak/ bought me “HARD LINES” which documented a much of sheffield my family and i grew up in – brilliant book. So important to have that archive. Very happy for this interview.

I have just moved to Norfolk Park and still find it as alive and vibrant as the brief memories of my youth – running for my life from kid gangs or in later years DJing on pirate radio stations and enjoying of parties all night.
