Sheffield Utd boss Wilder isn’t sure he’s keeping Holgate

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is unsure if he will keep Mason Holgate.

The defender spent time on loan with the Blades from Everton last season.

Holgate has a year left on his Toffees contract and Wilder said: “There’s a group of players… I think with the loans we’ve had a mixed bag with them all season. Ben Brereton Diaz was outstanding and Mason was good at times.

“I always think it’s difficult going into January to really get into a rhythm and obviously he hasn’t, because of his sending off. That set him back a bit.

“There have been other (loans) that haven’t been too successful, so he will be on a list. He’s under contract with Everton for another year, so there’s going to be a lot of talk and talk and business and a lot of moving parts. But attitude wise Mason was great, his experience in the dressing room and his voice was loud and positive. So we’ll wait and see how it all pans out in the summer.”
