Fresh health concerns for Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales ‘won’t be seen in public this year’

There are fresh concerns about Kate Middleton’s health as it has been reported that the Princess of Wales ‘will not be seen in public this year’ as she needs time to recover from an ongoing health battle.

The Princess of Wales bravely told the public earlier this year that she had cancer after weeks of speculation about her health following an operation.

While there are few details about her condition, it has been reported that she is surrounded by her own family and will not be returning to public duties in the near or distant future.

Kate is expected to spend next week’s school holidays with her family at their country home on the Sandringham Estate, the Scottish Daily Express reports.

The royal family has said it will pull back from some engagements in the coming months to avoid distractions from the general election.

A source told The Daily Beast that they don’t expect to see Kate in any kind of public role again in the medium term, adding that she may be absent from public life for the rest of the year.

The source said: “A lot of people involved in planning need to know what all the executives are doing well in advance.

“I’m told Kate’s diary for this year is empty. Nothing is planned. He may not appear in public for the rest of the year.”

The friend said Kate preferred to lean on and rely on her family rather than her and William’s circle of friends, many of whom will be at the Duke of Westminster’s wedding next month.

They said: “The circle of trust is small. She was surrounded by Carole and Michael and (sister) Pippa and (brother) James were obviously there for her.

“They are an incredibly close family and Catherine feels absolutely confident that she is relying on them. They have been with her for decades and have never let her down.”

Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis in a video message released on March 22, saying she initially thought her condition was non-cancerous but discovered the truth after successful abdominal surgery in January.

Subsequent tests revealed that cancer—as yet of an unspecified type—was present.
