London’s tram service is abysmal, say the Lib Dems

Speaking on the Inside City Hall podcast, Conservative Assembly group leader Neil Garratt also said the issue was an “absolute nightmare” for his constituents in Croydon.

Asked about the issue on Tuesday, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “I will be meeting with (MP for Croydon Central) Sarah Jones again to discuss these issues because it is not good enough for the residents there.

“The tram is often, for many families, the only decent public transport they have. Many had to wait a long time to get a decent tram.”

He added that TfL was working to ensure there was “proper maintenance to ensure trams are not taken out of service”.
