EastEnders is streaming the character’s emotional exit on iPlayer early release

EastEnders spoilers follow from Thursday’s (May 23) episode, which has not yet aired on BBC One.

EastEnders aired an emotional exit for Whitney Dean in the latest episode of the show.

Following her fiance Zack Hudson’s betrayal, Whitney decided she needed to move away from Walford for a fresh start with Britney and Dolly.

In the latest episode, Whitney told Britney that she had spoken to her brother Ryan, who said she could stay with him in Wakefield while they find a more permanent place to live.

Whitney was worried if she was doing the right thing, so to ease her worries, Bianca said she would join them.

Then he had to break the news to Zack that they were leaving for good that evening. Zack begged her not to go and even suggested she go with them.

When Whitney told him that Bianca was leaving too, Zack dropped a bombshell. He revealed that Bianca also knew that he and Lauren slept together and didn’t tell Whitney – and even talked him into not saying anything right before the wedding.

As Bianca collected her last pay packet from the coffee shop, preparing to leave, Whitney confronted her about her secret.

In a devastating scene, a heartbroken Whitney explained to her stepmother that although she still loved her, she no longer trusted her and therefore Bianca was not allowed to move in with them.

Whitney shut down before leaving the Square, telling Lauren that she didn’t want a fight between them – but made it clear that their friendship was over.

He then met Zack at Peach’s memorial tree, where they talked things out and ended on much better terms. As Zack said goodbye to Dolly, he introduced her to her older sister, Peach, who he said would have loved her so much.

In The Vic, Walford residents created a photo slideshow for Whitney as she said goodbye to family and friends.

In typical Whitney fashion, she chose to take a bus instead of a taxi to the train station, and as she walked through the square to the bus stop, she was greeted with applause from all the stall owners, a gesture that left her emotional.

After saying their final goodbyes, Whitney, Britney, and Dolly boarded the bus—Bianca, Zack, and Lauren all stood on the street, sharing a remorseful look.

“Are we going to be okay?” Britney said as the bus pulled out of Albert Square, to which Whitney replied: ‘We’ll figure something out. We always do.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show is also on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am before their TV broadcast.
