Knowl Park House – Construction Update April 2024

There is excitement in the air as we near the completion of our new dementia day care units.

What happened?

let start outside, where retaining walls at the main entrance and building entrance will soon be completed, and asphalt is on the way as the parking lot takes shape.

We have the power! Or we will when the newly installed power cable goes live, allowing access to electricity, gas and water.

Contractors continue to work on the facades and pitched roofs which can be seen from Crowlees Road.

Works on the ceiling and floor

Move in and work underway to install suspended and acoustically covered ceilings. Vinyl goes into wet areas like restrooms as workers begin installing floor finishes. Related to this, the underfloor heating system was used to complete the curing process of the screed. This means that this area is now ready for the final floor finish to be installed.

Ready to wash

An integrated sanitary system was installed – it hides the mains, waste and toilet tanks in a small gap behind the toilets, urinals and sinks. The contractors also installed the sanitary panel system instead of ceramic tiles.

There is color on the walls as painting and decorating continues and final repair items such as sockets, switches, sinks and wet room items are on site and being installed.

Next…

The main entrance work will be finished and then any final issues will be resolved. The last carpentry items will be finished and work will begin on final finishes, such as flooring.
