“I tried the little known car ‘hack’ and I can’t believe it worked”

People have been left baffled after a woman shares a little-known car ‘hack’ she’s convinced no one knew about. Shannon Mitchell from Belfast was left stunned after her boyfriend told her about the hack, which he thought was known.

In a video uploaded to TikTok, Shannon demonstrated the surprising hack. She captioned the post: “I feel like I own a transformer now.”

Shannon said: “Please be honest with me if you knew this was a thing because I only found out yesterday and I just tried it on my car and it just worked and I’m blown away. My boyfriend seems to think everyone knows this, but I don’t, so I’m sure there are other people who don’t.”

She goes on to detail how she intentionally leaves her window open after turning off the engine and getting out. “So you get out of the car and you lock the car, then you realize, ‘oh shit, I rolled my windows down,'” she said.

Shannon explained that her boyfriend told her a trick that closes the windows without unlocking and restarting the car. Double-clicking the lock button and then holding it down will automatically roll back the windows.

She continued: “Please tell me I’m not the only person who didn’t know about this. And when you see that, it gets better, you can actually take them down too, just watch.”

This time Shannon held down the unlock button where her windows opened. Shannon’s video has been viewed over 166,200 times, garnering 11,800 likes and 367 comments. Viewers shared their amazement at the hack in their responses, with others saying they thought “everyone” already knew about it.

Megan Eva Jane said: “I wish my car was this high tech, I still have rolling windows in the back.” MD’s Wax Melts wrote, “I thought everyone knew this,” while Robyn H said, “I have to try this.”
