“Bore off”… Jermaine Beckford and Michael Bridges predict the result as Leeds take on Southampton

A Premier League place is at stake, the chance to join Leicester City and Ipswich Town in securing promotion to the top tier of the Championship this season at the first attempt for both clubs today.

Many have given their predictions, Troy Deeney and Graeme Souness disagree with Simon Jordan on the same podcast. Deeney and Souness believe Leeds will have the better of Southampton.

Leeds have some momentum after two clean sheets in a row and a 4-0 win over Norwich, but The Saints go into the game in good form after beating West Brom 3-1 in the play-off semi-finals.

Beckford and Bridges predict Leeds to beat Southampton

Beckford and Bridges, two former Leeds strikers, presented their predictions on LUTV’s play-off final preview show this weekend ahead of Sunday’s clash and, as you can imagine, both predicted Leeds wins .

But, Bridges believes the game will go into extra-time before Leeds win 3-2 and that prediction prompted a hilarious response from Beckford, who believes Leeds will claim a 3-1 victory in 90 minutes.

Beckford predicted: “90 minutes, 3-1 Leeds”, before Bridges gave his: “In extra-time, someone will win the game for Leeds, off the bench, 3-2 win,” determined to Beckford to reply, “Be bored, Bridgey!”

Ross McCormack and Simon Grayson’s predictions for Leeds

Many have given their predictions in the media and McCormack believes the game will go down if three Leeds players feature in Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Willy Gnonto.

Former Leeds manager Grayson has given his opinion and he believes Leeds will win, but is well aware that it will be a tough, ‘indulgent’ affair and the winner will be whoever can find their best on that day.
