Aston Villa said potential transfer ‘solution’ as £15m midfielder position explained

A loan offer could be a way for Aston Villa to tempt midfielder Carlos Soler to Villa Park, it has been claimed.

Villa have been linked with the PSG man as they prepare for the summer transfer window to open next month. However, reports have suggested that the player is not keen on leaving his current club.

According to Foot Mercato, Soler is “in no rush” to move on, but a temporary change could offer a potential “solution”. It would involve any loan team paying part of his salary.

Villa are said to have recently received “some information” regarding the 27-year-old’s availability as one of a number of teams who have “come forward”. Villarreal and Real Sociedad are also credited with interest.

Soler has had a difficult few years in the French capital since his £15million move from Valencia in 2022. He made 24 league appearances during the season just gone, but reports suggested he was booed when he played what could be his last home game for PSG.

The Spain international is under contract until 2027. PSG are said to be aware that they will struggle to recoup the fee they paid for him.
