Ruth Langsford to skip Loose Women appearances after split from Eamonn Holmes, who is reprising her role GB News | Birmingham Live

Eamonn Holmes will be the first to face the cameras this week after he and wife Ruth Langford announced their split. Holmes will break his silence in a return to GB News this week.

However, Langsford will be absent from Loose Women for the entire week at least following her split. BirminghamLive previously reported how Eamonn, a presenter on GB News, was to tell his story on the channel.

The pair were once a much-loved duo on ITV’s This Morning but announced yesterday that they were divorcing after 14 years of marriage. The couple, who were introduced by mutual friends in 1997 and have a son together, Jack, confirmed their split in a short statement.

It read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Eamonn moved from the family home to a nearby property. While Ruth remained silent on social media, Eamonn carried on as usual, even ignoring the news with an Instagram post on Saturday night about the FA Cup final.

He is expected to address the breakup when he returns to work on Monday. A source said: “Eamonn is always candid on camera and knows it will be awkward for him to discuss the news of the day without mentioning his break-up, so he’s going to say a few words. He puts on a brave face and will be the true professional. he always is. Focusing on work will be a welcome distraction.”

Ruth Langsford will not be taking her usual slot on Loose Women this week, while Eamonn Holmes is keeping his GB News commitments.
