Coventry’s ‘perfect’ pub that’s like ‘kids’ dreamland’

You might think that once you have kids, your days of going to the pub are over, but it doesn’t have to be. More and more establishments are seeing the advantages of welcoming the whole family and a pub lunch can be the highlight of a great day.

The Bull and Butcher at Corley is one such place. With a garden described as a ‘children’s dreamland’, there’s plenty to keep them busy while parents enjoy a drink. There are several play areas that are suitable for different ages, a sand pit and a number of slides.

Plus, in the field next door are farm animals that kids can pet and feed. Pet food bags are available at the bar.

The pub also hosts family events throughout the year, such as the recent ‘Breakfast with the Easter Bunny’ which included games, arts and crafts and a bouncy castle.

For those making a day of it, there’s a Sunday carvery plus a main menu with meals including pie of the day, sea bass, sausage and mash and rack of lamb.

The pub has a 3.5 rating on Tripadvisor with just over 370 reviews and has recently served very happy customers. One said it was “the nicest restaurant I’ve been to” and praised the “wonderful staff”, while another described their visit as “perfect”. The reviewer added: “Amazing staff, polite and willing to help with anything. Amazing food, big portions. Amazing atmosphere. Overall a nice pub that caters for every member of the family, especially the kids.”
