Equestrian star Georgie Campbell dies tragically after falling from horse during event | Bristol Live

British equestrian Georgie Campbell has died following a fall at the Bicton International Horse Trials in Devon, British Eventing has announced.

Campbell was immediately attended to by medical staff after the incident on the final day of the event, but unfortunately could not be saved, DevonLive reports.




A statement from British Eventing, posted on the trials webpage at 6pm on Sunday, said: “It is with the deepest regret that we announce that Georgie Campbell (GBR) has suffered a fatal accident while competing at the Bicton International Horse Trials from Devon, England on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

“Medical professionals intervened immediately after her fall at the 5b fence, however, unfortunately, she could not be saved. The horse, Global Quest, was evaluated by veterinarians at the scene and returned to the stable and is unharmed.

“To respect the family’s privacy at this extremely difficult and sad time, no further details will be shared.”

The Bicton International Horse Trials is wrapping up its final day, taking place from May 23rd to 26th at the Bicton Arena, located in East Budleigh, Budleigh Salterton.
