The prolific Huddersfield criminal stopped the man’s car and beat him before stealing his phone and bank card

A prolific Huddersfield criminal has been jailed for a catalog of serious offences, including robbery, which left his victim “frightened and shaken” by the incident.

Greg Dolan, 41, was jailed for three years at Leeds Crown Court on May 1 for a series of serious offenses including robbery, burglary, fraud and possession of class A drugs. He was described as a prolific criminal by West Yorkshire Police detectives, who said it was good news for communities that he would be out of Kirklees for a substantial period of time.

Leeds Crown Court heard that the 41-year-old man and a female suspect stopped a victim who was driving on Bradford Road in Huddersfield on January 20, 2023, after the woman signaled the driver to get out. Dolan punched the victim several times through the open window. The woman then took her phone and bank card which was used at a nearby cash card.

In another offence, he broke into a flat in Huddersfield in January 2023 and stole bank cards which were then used in local shops. Detective Constable Lewis from Kirklees District Crime Squad said: “Dolan is a prolific criminal and it is good news for communities that he has been taken off our streets.

“Being a victim of crime can have a terrible impact on those targeted by criminals like Dolan and his crime. The robbery victim in particular was very shaken by his ordeal and said he now feels scared if he has to go back to the area he was in. attacked.”

He added: “The District Crime Squad continues to investigate a number of such serious crimes and we continue to urge anyone who is a victim of crime to report the crime to West Yorkshire Police or anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
