ITV’s 1% Club’s Yinrun Huang addresses ‘Runrun’ nickname controversy amid viewer backlash | Birmingham Live

1% Club contestant Yinrun Huang has opened up about a controversial issue from her time on the show that caused fans to find it “offensive” and “disrespectful”. In the latest episode of the ITV quiz which aired on Saturday night, 26-year-old Yinrun, who shot to fame as a Big Brother finalist last year, was featured.

It is noted that her appearance on Big Brother was recorded a few months after participating in the 1% Club. During her introduction by host Lee Mack, 55, to the 1% Club, she was called Runrun. Before the episode aired this weekend, she informed her Instagram followers: “They gave me (that name) because it was easier to say.”

Yinrun appeared several times throughout the episode, including one time where she gave an incorrect answer. Lee remarked, “I’m so sorry to say we’ve lost Runrun.”
