Chelsea are closing in on Enzo Maresca as their new head coach and the Leicester boss is now in a prime position to succeed Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea were impressed by the depth and breadth of his knowledge of their squad in discussions with his representatives.

He is now their preferred choice to replace Mauricio Pochettino and an appointment could be made in the coming days if and when an agreement is reached with Leicester over compensation.
