Sheffield United will offload starlet desperate for transfer to Spain after relegation to Premier League

IVO GRBIC will be allowed to leave Sheffield United – and the goalkeeper wants a club in Spain.

The 28-year-old Croatian was back-up for Atletico Madrid before joining the Blades in January, but fell to the Prem.

Grbic made just 10 appearances for Sheffield United and conceded 30 goals.

Before switching Spain to the Premier League, he spent four years with Atletico Madrid.

He made 14 appearances for the La Liga side, conceding 14 goals and keeping four clean sheets.

Grbic spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Lille, where he became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

The two-capped Croatia star also played for Hajduk Split and Lokomotiva Zagreb.

Meanwhile, takeover bidders for Sheffield United in the US want to land former Burnley and Bournemouth scout Des Taylor as a footballing supremo.

The Blades were relegated back to the Championship this month after finishing bottom of the Premier League table.

Manager Chris Wilder said: “We weren’t good enough. The league was too strong for us during the season.

“It stings and it hurts. We have to own it. We have so much work to do on the training ground. We have to have a proper pre-season.

“Sheffield United are a very good football club. I think everyone understands that, but it’s been a very poor season.”

The Blades could risk losing the likes of Vinicius Souza and Gustavo Hamer this summer.
