Cornwall Business Park will receive a £600,000 grant

A commercial and industrial park in Cornwall is to receive a £600,000 investment from a growth fund to house more businesses.

Chenoweths Business Park on the Roseland Peninsula is planning a £1.2m expansion which will see the creation of eight new retail units.

Julian Chenoweth said the investment from the Good Growth fund was vital to the project.

The fund is administered by Cornwall Council with money from the government.

Mr. Chenoweth provides informal mentoring support to start-ups and entrepreneurs in the business park.

He said: “We estimate the new units could support up to 50 local jobs and are designed to be net zero carbon, with heat pumps, solar panels and secondary aggregates.

“We will also have charging points for electric vehicles, which tend to be in short supply in rural areas.”

Louis Gardner, portfolio holder for the economy, the expansion would meet the area’s demand for high-quality, affordable workspace.
