The vehicle found “half submerged” in the Bradford Canal, police said

The vehicle went into a canal in the River Holland around Peterman Lane in Bradford on Sunday evening

Emergency crews had to pull a large one ashore Sunday evening.

South Simcoe Police, Bradford Fire and Emergency Services personnel and Simcoe County Paramedics responded to a call on Sunday, May 26, around 5 p.m., after a vehicle entered a canal in the Holland River around Peterman Lane of Bradford. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle “half submerged” in water.

“It was confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle and there was no immediate safety issue,” police spokeswoman Isabella Soligo said Monday morning.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, made it out safely and was awaiting emergency personnel upon arrival.

Alcohol impairment has been ruled out and no charges will be filed, Soligo said.
