Liverpool Philharmonic awarded £750,000 from Arts Council – Birkenhead News

The Liverpool Philharmonic is to receive £750,000 from Arts Council England thanks to its government-funded Capital Investment Programme, it announced today.

The funding will be used by Liverpool Philharmonic towards the cost of remodeling the orchestra stage and choir seating area to improve the acoustics on stage, improve the space for musicians and singers to perform at their best and provide access for those with reduced mobility in all areas. of the scene.

This funding will enable the Liverpool Philharmonic to continue to provide high quality creative and cultural experiences for the people of Liverpool.

The capital investment program supports the Arts Council’s mission to ensure that communities across the country have the infrastructure where creativity for all can thrive.

Michael Eakin, chief executive of the Liverpool Philharmonic, said: “We are grateful to Arts Council England for their generous support in enabling us to make much needed improvements to our Philharmonic Hall stage. We present approximately 250 concerts and events each year on the stage of the Philharmonic Hall and these will allow us to continue to offer the best quality music experience for our audiences.”

Darren Henley, chief executive, Arts Council England, said, “This infrastructure investment will help a whole range of different cultural organizations across England to flourish, increasing opportunities for people to enjoy creatively great cultural events close to where they live. It is especially important to make this happen in communities where cultural investment has historically been low.”
