South London’s beloved tiki bar and club for sale for £100,000

A tiki-style bar and nightclub in the heart of Clapham Junction’s nightlife is looking for a new owner.

Sugar Cane Bar, located on Lavender Hill, was first established in 2007 and has gathered a good reputation according to Google Maps reviews.

Real estate agency Christie & Co shared the ad on Zoopla and refers to the late-night venue as a “profitable and established business.”

The bar’s location on Lavender Hill, which is a five-minute walk from Clapham Junction train station, makes it part of a vibrant shopping area in Battersea, full of shops, pubs and restaurants.

The bar itself is filled with tiki-hut booths and a bamboo cocktail bar with a distinct South Pacific theme.

The first floor can accommodate up to 100 customers standing and 80 seated, there is also a renovated nightclub in the basement with a capacity of 70.

Christie & Co adds that a fully fitted commercial kitchen, a fridge, office rooms and additional storage areas are part of the basement layout.

The exterior of the bar has outdoor heating and cover as well as keeping with the unique tiki theme.

The future owner of the Sugar Cane bar can take advantage of the late 2am license and, according to the listing, all staff members will remain with the business.

Figures from the last financial year show the bar racked up an annual turnover of £740,000 excluding VAT.

A 25-year lease, with five years remaining, will transfer to the new owner and the rent is currently set at £80,000 per annum.

It also has a starting guide price of £100,000.

The landlord must also extend the existing lease upon assignment for future owners.
