Woman taken to hospital after being hit by car

A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy road in the city earlier (Monday). The collision happened just after 1pm on the A6 Leicester Road, near Leicester Racecourse in Oadby.

Leicestershire Police said in a statement that the woman’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The collision resulted in a partial road closure, causing queues on the route to Leicester.




The police statement said: “Police were called at 1.01pm to Leicester Road, Oadby, following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

“East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended and the pedestrian – a woman – was taken to hospital. Her injuries are not reported to be life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.”
