This is the shocking moment Leeds United and Southampton fans clashed in ugly scenes at Wembley Stadium after Sunday’s Championship play-off final.

Just moments after Southampton secured their return to the Premier League with a 1-0 win, a mass brawl broke out between the two sets of fans as they poured onto Wembley Way.

Angry supporters were filmed fighting as they left the iconic stadium and walked towards Wembley Park tube station at around 7pm.

It was clear that tensions were high following what is considered football’s most lucrative match. Adam Armstrong’s strike secured a tense victory for Southampton and essentially earned them an unprecedented £180m payday.

In the video, a pair of fans are seen coming to blows as others look on in shock. One of the men tries to throw a punch but it doesn’t connect as the rival fan moves out of the way.

The two then run to another fight that broke out next to them. This time, another fan is dragged to the ground and kicked while pinned to the floor.

Another group of boys then come to intervene by dragging the attacker and punching him in the stomach.

Other witnesses – including women – tried to stop the brawl between fans seen wearing the club’s colours.

One said: “Stop, stop, stop. Do not do it.

But moments later, another fan walks up to a rival supporter and punches him in the back of the head. He then sets his sights on another fan and kicks it to the ground.

As he falls to the ground, a second attacker hits him again, leaving him lying on the floor, covering his head for protection.

The man filming the 39-second video said: “Is this Wembley for you man?

“Damn it, buddy.”

The mood between the two sets of fans could not have been more different after the game.

Southampton fans were celebrating after returning to the Premier League following last season’s relegation.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, a Southampton fan, congratulated the Saints after they secured promotion.

Following the win, Mr Sunak wrote on X: “We’re back” before adding three “clap” emojis.

Leeds United will now stay in the Championship next season after narrowly missing out on a lucrative promotion.

The ugly brawl came just 24 hours after Manchester United and Manchester City fans clashed on the streets of London ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final.

A shirtless fan was seen struggling on the floor at a bus stop, with traffic at a standstill, before several men gathered.

Kicks and punches – and bottles – were thrown during the shocking scenes in the hours before the eagerly awaited final.

Chants of “United, United” can be heard in the background during the bit which continued just across the road as horrified shoppers watched.
