Nicki Minaj announces new Manchester Co-op Live concert after arrest forces her to cancel show | Ents & Arts News

Nicki Minaj has announced the new date for the Manchester concert she was forced to cancel last Saturday after being arrested in the Netherlands.

Rapper and singerThe 41-year-old was due to perform for thousands of fans at Co-op Live, but the show was canceled at the last minute as Minaj was held in custody in Amsterdam for hours.

Announcing the new Manchester date on X, she said: “OK guys I’ve been RE-ADVISED that we actually CANNOT do any other #gagcityMANCHESTER makeup dates apart from JUNE 3rd.

“So 3rd JUNE is the new official date for all ticket holders who originally had tickets to the #Manchester show on 25th MAY.

“I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.

“I really hope you can make the #JUNE3rd show. It’s going to be really special. Ticketmaster will be contacting you to officially advise.”

Minaj, who is known for her hits Starships, Super Bass and Anaconda, said she spent around six hours in custody at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on Saturday before being able to fly to the UK.

She live-streamed her arrest on social media and claimed the drugs found in her luggage did not belong to her.

Minaj praised fans for being a “class act” during the sudden postponement of the Manchester concert and invited them to her city center hotel before speaking to the crowd outside.

Dutch police said a 41-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday after allegedly trying to take what they described as “soft drugs” from Schiphol airport to another country.

A later update from the workforce said it had released “the suspect and she can move on” after she paid a fine.

As part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, Minaj performed in Birmingham on Sunday, while a London concert is scheduled for Tuesday at Arena 02.

He is due to perform in Glasgow on Wednesday, followed by a gig on Thursday, again at Manchester’s Co-op Live.
