Bailey Cadamarteri backs himself and brother Caelan to touch Sheffield Wednesday first

Bailey Cadamarteri backed himself and brother Caelan-Kole to become Sheffield Wednesday’s first to do so.

Bailey Cadamarteri burst onto the scene this season, making his debut in November before scoring three goals in his first five starts.

The striker lost his place in the starting line-up in the second half of the campaign but remains highly rated at Hillsborough.

Cadamarteri isn’t the only exciting member of the family to come through the academy though, with younger brother Caelan-Kole also impressing.

The youngster hit the X at the weekend as he took his tally for the campaign to 56 goals for the youth team.

Caelan-Kole wrote: “Season over for me now nice to close with a goal #2 chip which takes me to 56 for the season. Now looking forward to going with @ScotlandNT u15s next week and then watching @Baileycadz for @England u20s elite team the following week. We’re going to crack the Bay next season.”

Caelan-Kole made his debut for Scotland U15s last month, netting a brace against Hong Kong in a 3-1 win.

The Cadamarteris might be the first brothers to do a thing

The youngster is clearly following in Bailey’s footsteps and his older brother is eager to see him break into the first team.

The 18-year-old hit back at his brother, writing: “You had a great season man scoring all types of goals and across 3 age groups even I didn’t play for 2 years when I was your age.

“Keep flying and you never know we could be the first 2 brothers to play in the same team for @swfc Good luck with Scotland.”

Can Bailey Cadamarteri become an England international?

Caelan-Kole currently plays for the Scotland national team, while Bailey has so far chosen to play for England.

However, the teenager has attracted interest from Jamaica and could still opt to play for the Reggae Boyz if he fails to force his way into England’s senior set-up.

Given that Cadamarteri is only 18, he still has plenty of time to push for a place in the senior squad.

The teenager will face competition from the rest of his generation of talent, such as Liam Delap, Cameron Archer and Jay Stansfield, for a place in the team once they reach their prime, although they are all older than Cadamarteri.

If the striker can establish himself as a regular at Sheffield Wednesday in a few years’ time, then there’s nothing to stop him becoming a worthy Premier League player.
