Joe Rodon has already told Leeds United what he wants amid Spurs’ future uncertainty

Leeds United could yet give Joe Rodon what he is looking for in the next step of his career despite their failure to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Much of the Whites’ success this season has been built on a strong backline, with Welsh full-back Rodon partnering international team-mate Ethan Ampadu at the heart of the Leeds defence. The 26-year-old impressed after arriving on loan from Tottenham but is set to join Spurs now his temporary spell at Elland Road is over.

It is unclear whether he features in Ange Postecoglou’s plans in north London, but it appears he could leave the club this summer. The signing of Rodon on a permanent deal would be a big boost to Daniel Farke’s promotion plans for 2025, although it remains to be seen whether Leeds face competition from the Premier League for his signature.

One thing for sure is how much Rodon has enjoyed his time in West Yorkshire and that could be the key to his next move though. He spoke of his search for consistency after having a season on loan at French side Rennes before moving to Leeds.

In an interview with the Mail earlier this season, Rodon said: “It would be nice to have stability and know where I am next season. I’ve always strived to get to the elite level and hopefully I can get back there with Leeds, but you never know.

“I don’t want to look too far into the future, although I love it here and Leeds feels like a second home to me now. I’m just focused on giving my best and getting this club back to where it belongs.”
